Canine Companions® puppy Waldo has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! He just turned 9-months-old and is growing and learning every day. Plus, he has an extra special friend (and mentor) around for the holidays – Canine Companions Facility Dog Sawyer.
Sawyer was the first puppy raised by Waldo’s volunteer puppy raiser. Sawyer’s graduate family is traveling for the holidays, so he gets to spend some time back in his old stomping grounds and he and Waldo have become fast friends. Is there anything better than having a friend to play with every day? No way!
Waldo joined the road trip to pick up Sawyer, which meant a fun stop at Magnolia in Waco, Texas. He didn’t meet Chip and Jo this time, but he was introduced to many new sights and sounds and met a lot of new people, which is important training for a Canine Companions puppy.
As Waldo continues his journey, there will be many more things to see, experience and learn. But for now, he’s getting ready for the holidays with his family and friends!
Be sure to continue to follow Waldo’s story as a future assistance dog.
