…Canine Companions National Graduation Day!
What makes November 9th National Graduation Day? Well, the puppies we have raised and trained for two years will become official assistance dogs and live full-time with their human companions. On November 9th, all five of our regional centers will celebrate the graduation of their most recent class of Graduate Teams. A Graduate Team is a partnership between a person with a disability and a highly-trained assistance dog.
We love graduation day. It is the culmination of hard work and selfless dedication, a shared celebration of the extraordinary chain of generosity that turns a lovable puppy into a Canine Companions assistance dog.
Graduations are exciting and very emotional; there is never a dry eye in the house. Breeder caretakers, puppy raisers and instructors are simply bursting with pride. Our volunteers and staff members feel an immense sense of achievement. The Graduate Teams are happiest of all having just finished two weeks of Team Training and now crossing the stage as partners in independence.
Supporters like you make these partnerships possible. Celebrate National Graduation Day by investing in the next great class of assistance dogs and program graduates.
Graduations are open to the public and all are welcome and encouraged to attend. Click one of the links below to find a graduation near you:
