Canine Companions for Independence instructors spend years learning how to train dogs to be future assistance dogs for people with disabilities. The dogs learn over 40 commands, from retrieving items to pulling a wheelchair. It all starts with basic obedience, housetraining and socialization that our volunteer puppy raisers teach our pups. Many people see our highly-trained and well-mannered dogs and want to learn the same techniques to teach their dog.
Well, thanks to Eukanuba, now you can learn the techniques used by watching our four puppy training videos. All part of the Canine Companions Extraordinary Puppy promotion presented by Eukanuba. Here’s what’s available:
- Basic obedience
- Grooming
- Socialization
- Housetraining
Each video is about 3-5 minutes long, with play-by-play instructions from our expert instructors, along with tips and tools to help you apply the techniques to your puppy. You’ll walk away with great ideas on puppy training…and probably won’t be able to get the video jingle out of your head!
Visit cci.org/puppytips to view all four videos. Here’s the basic obedience video to get you started.
That’s my puppy, good dog!
This is my moms’ e-mail, I was hit by a truck and have a brain injury. I’d like to have my dog trained (he is ~ 3) if possible. His name is @aquilla and he is very smart. I have a friend (Mike Miller) whose mom has a friend who works for you. He was wearing one of your shirts.

I have a 9 week old puppy who is 1/2 golden retriever and 1/2 labrador retriever. Can I donate her to be trained as an asstance/companion dog?
We breed our own dogs, but check out adionline.org for a list of other assistance organizations. Thanks for your generosity to the assistance dog world!
Hello, i remember when i first taught my dog on how to sit, because he was so very nasty, he always want to play when he was about 11 weeks old. I guess that’s the first thing you should teach your dog, that’s my own opinion. I was amazed that day when he payed attention to what i taught him to do. By the way, i would like to share my website about dog training, its http://dogruff.com feel free to check. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
